Edmonton MidWeek Racing Club

FORMERLY THE EMCC (Edmonton Masters Cycling Club)

Edmonton Midweek Racing is back for 2024!

EMRC is hosting a series of fast “shootout” style group rides*, time trials and hill climbs on Wednesday nights.

It starts May 8th and runs through August 27th.

*Unfortunately, we will not be able to run criteriums for 2024 as our course is not available due to construction. Instead, we will run fast “shootout” style group rides. Here’s how the group rides will work. We will meet at different spots each week and then ride out in 3 separate groups: A, B, and C. The first part of the ride is behind a group “leader,” but once we hit a specific “start point” it’s game on – ride fast or not – your choice until you get to the “finish.” Then ride in easy. The route is posted online, so you will know where you are going, but the routes are not marshalled and are open roads, so you have to ride safely. This is a club ride, just faster.

  • No racing license is required; just be a member of an ABA-affiliated club or an ABA general member.

  • There are A, B and C events.

  • These events are open to riders from U17 through Masters.

  • Entry cost is low, just enough to cover costs and have some cash or gift card prizes for the series winners!
